I already have NCLEX -RN (License Number: 026.0082937, NJ) but I am not a US Citizen. Can have the NREMT - P Exam online?

I am also a registered nurse in the Philippines and currently holding EMT license in Saudi Council Health Specialist. ;)

There is no provision to challenge the NREMT-P exam.

"Individuals applying for EMT-Paramedic / Paramedic certification must meet the following requirements:
18 years of age or older.

Possess current National Certification at the EMT-Basic level or current state certification at the EMT-Basic level or higher.

Successful completion of a state-approved EMT-Paramedic / Paramedic course that meets or exceeds the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Paramedic National Standard Curriculum. You must have completed the course within the past two years. Your Program Director must verify your successful completion of the course on the NREMT web site.

If your initial EMT-Paramedic / Paramedic educational program was completed more than two years ago and you have maintained state licensure at the EMT-Paramedic / Paramedic level, you must submit documentation verifying completion of a EMT-Paramedic / Paramedic refresher training program within the past two years. If your initial EMT-Paramedic / Paramedic education program was completed more than two years ago and you never gained state licensure at the EMT-Paramedic / Paramedic level, you must complete an entire state-approved EMT-Paramedic / Paramedic course prior to applying for certification.
Verification from the Program Director that you hold a current CPR credential for health care providers and have demonstrated competence in EMT-Paramedic / Paramedic skills."

Here is another helpful link.

Ultimately, it will probably come down to what state you want to work in - and how that state's licensing board handles RN's. I do not think you would get any credit for foreign EMS credentials in terms of licensure.

Thanks a lot sir azemtb255. So, I'll have to wait for my visa to come to have the NREMT - P Exam. By the way, If ever I'm already in the US, What requirements are needed to have the P exam since I'm an NCLEX RN holder? Will I have to go back as EMT B or I or can I now challenge the EMT P exam directly?

Some states allow you to challenge the state Paramedic certification when you meet other additional requirements as an RN, but I don't believe the NREMT does. Try contacting the NREMT, nremt.org none of us work for them...

But at that time you can challenge the registry as a state paramedic. I believe Florida was one state that allowed RNs with their basic to challenge the medic exam but I could be wrong.

I believe some states (PA??) have pre-hospital RNs.

I have also heard FL and a few other states allow RNs to challenge the P test.
