Not quite an EMT-B yet...

Hi everyone, I gotta question in regards to NYS EMT cert - today I took my the state "practical" and passed...I was told while inquiring during all my emt training endeavor's that I can apply for FDNY EMT prior to passing the state "written" exam which is scheduled a month from now by using my course no.

I wanted to speed things along being that I am halfway there, try getting my name on a list asap...is this information I was given true? Or do I have wait until I pass the written.

Can't speak for FDNY, but most places I know will allow you to apply for a position before you have your cert, and offer you a conditional job offer that so long as you get your cert, they will hire you.

oh realllly...thats cool too - I'll need the experience so i just figured I'd just be volunteering for a million hours beforehand...

but at least today's a start - I passed and am so happy I got through today!
