hi all i was wondering if anyone heard anything about northeastern in boston paramedic program i have been getting mixed reviews just wanted to hear opinions on it

dan

DOn't know. Heard it was good but I live in NY.

i think a lot of the medics in the northeast go through there at least the few that i know went through there or they have their NREMT-P and came from NH or some other place w/ reciprocity.

its a good program but its goes for about 20 grand you can go to necco for about 4 and emtsinc for about 8... necco emtsinc and northeastern you will get your cert

i remember you saying something about RI. It doesnt matter if you get your MA then just apply for reciprocity. You could do it the reverse way and take the course in RI as an NREMT-P but you would most likely have to have your RI basic first so its probablly worth just taking the MA and get reciprocity. I had to do that for my basic in new orleans and it wasnt too bad. I just had to take a new practical (b.c of a larger SOP in LA) and then took the nremt written and that was it.

its easier to go from RI to mass than it is ma to RI....because no matter to get your RI you need your national.

The NEU Paramedic program has undergone some changes over the past few years. It used to be well known, well acclaimed, but had lost important faculty and funding over the past few years, but was still the most expensive in the area. They sent their students to NYC and Newark, NJ for ride time (to see interesting things, and get tubes quickly). They closed two years ago, and just reopened under new management, new funding, etc. and I have heard good things about their progress. They are certainly worth a look, and I would not be surprised if you started to see more mention of them in the coming years. One note, however: They are associated with Northeastern Univ, but housed in Burlington, MA, outside the city.

Good Luck!

i know they were really good thats y i wanted to ask cause i have had some friends who went to a few different ones and they didn't like them and i do like the fact that u get credits for the NEU program i dont mind the paying a lil more for a really good program cause i wanna get my RN later on i just dont have the time right now to get it so i figured that cause u get credits from this one it would be good to go to.
