EMS isn't my day job, I got my certificate about 10 years ago and have kept current so I can volunteer at charity/non-profit events. I'm not affiliated with any agency, I just do this on my own. Over the last couple of years I've been working a lot of roller derby games, as my wife skates.
Anyway, I was wondering what others might do for patient care reports in this kind of situation. Anything? Mostly I hand out ice packs for bruises and minor sprains, but occasionally there's a dislocation or fracture that requires hospital care. Typically the family or team members will transport in that case.
Any suggestions?

Derby's awesome. I did the medical for our local team for a few years. We only called for a truck once. Most of the time anybody that needs medical attn will at least get numbed up at the after party first. The FD in our area could care less about who you are or what you do or did for the pt unless you're on the job with them.

If you feel like you need to CYA, then keep a small journal. If you feel you need something more significant there are all sorts of first aid logs available commercially.

The WFTDA does not have a requirement for any sort of Pt Care documentation, just "at least two licensed or certified medical professionals with expertise in emergency and urgent medical care" per WFTDA rules section 10.2.1 ( http://wftda.com/rules/20100526/section/10 )

Pretty much, even though they require you to be "licensed or certified" you're pretty much band-aid boy with 911 on speed dial.

Second Milla and add this note

Talk with your responding EMS folks and get a copy of their patient contact reports. Either use that with the serial numbers filed of, or devise one which mirrors it for data, the order it is written down etc, to make the handoff smooth when/if they need to respond or you tell someone to go to the ER and "take this note with you". And keep a copy of each.
