Hello, first time on here, so let me explain our issue. Here in Ohio they are getting rid of the EMT-Intermediate and going to the EMT-Advanced. Our class feels we are sort of gunnea pigs because they switched us 3/4 of the way through the class because the training center wasn't sure which one we were to be labeled. So we completed the class in the intermediate 99 books but they wanted us to do the new AEMT lesson. That lost us off the bat. Then when we were finished the administration said we were going to be labeled Intermediate and only have to do the Int-99 requirements. Week later they changed their minds and stated we were going to be certified as AEMT's if we passed since they just were not sure how the new State rules were going to be listed. Now, after the class, 14 in the class, 14 took the NREMT written and 3 our or 14 passed the test.... About only half passed the practicals. The written consists of 139 questions and everyone has to do the complete 139. no cut off if your doing good, or more if you are doing bad.. We feel we are being test dummies for this new system. Am just wondering if any other state has come across this "changing of the guard" sort of??? If so, how are your people handling passing the Written.... Thanks
