Hey guys and gals. I'm new to the forum. I'm currently an EMT - B. Fire certified in FL. Right now I'm enrolled in my EMT-P classes. I'm doing good, but I'm having a few issues. My main one is learning my drugs. We have to learn two drugs every three days. I'm having problem retaining the info after the test. With having to learn drugs, med admin, entubation and IVs it seems like there's hardly any room for it to fit. Do you have any tips that might be able to help? What are some of the techniques you used? Any thoughts or opinions would be great. Thanks!!

It seems to me that oftentimes the best way to learn things is to put them into practice. Obviously you can't quite do that yet. But maybe doing some frequent ride-alongs/ER visits you can start to note where and how the drugs and other things are properly implemented.

The easiest way for me was learn what they were used for, and why they are used for it. Ie why morphine is used for chest pain or why epi is used for a pleathora of different ailments.
