New NREMT Re-Cert by Exam option

(searched on NREMT in title posts, and just got a non-helpful pop-up infomercial with similar title posts here, so I don't think this has been posted before...)

Just got the mailing from NREMT: "There are Two Options for getting Recertified: New Computer Based Exam or Traditional Continuing Education".

What do you-all think? Looks to help short-cut the re-cert process, IMO, at least if you're comfortable with taking the one-shot-only exam. Should be fun. The re-cert class looked to be good as well (one outfit here offers a 24-hour straight shift class), but I'm comfortable with re-certifying with the national exam.

I still need to check to see how this dovetails with my local EMS agency (Santa Clara County EMS in Cali), but overall it looks to be helpful.

I know a guy in your system who said he did this very recently and had it accepted. Don't know any details, though.

If my agencies all allow it, I'll do it... but that goes for anything that they'll all accept. I'd be comfortable doing an exam.
