Hello been checking out the forums for a couple of days now. I have an interest in going for EMT-Basic and I may have lots of questions.
 
Anyone here, including myself, would be happy to help I’m almost done with EMT-B training now, what would you like to know?
 
I would like to know if a new emt basic would be working lots of OT? I love the idea of working lots of OT. If so how many hours average a week would a basic work total? Thank for any responses.
 
I think that te aswer to that question really depends on not only the area you're in, but where you get a job, what company/fire dept, some private ambulance companies have contracts with fire departments, some have contracts with hospitals, ect. als depends on hw busy what ever company/FF is. So that questions has a whole lot of variables and different answers.
 
Welcome, I'm sure you'll find that this forum is a great place for advice, information or even if you just need to vent! I''m about a month or so out of my EMT-B class and I've been here for a few months now. As far as OT, I agree with Hunter, its just all about where you work.
