Has anyone here gone through the New Jersey reciprocity process for paramedics. I am looking to move and know it is a special and lengthy process. I know that you need to be hired first to gain reciprocity, but beyond that I do not know much. Can anyone fill me in?

I can provide the little that I know for NJ paramedic recip. but only as an EMT. From what I know, there is no state medic test. You gain recip from other state or national registry. Depending on what state you came from and what ALS program, you might have additional ride time needed prior to riding on an als truck.

Any idea what medics and EMT's make, particularly in North Jersey?

To provide some info on ALS in New Jersey, if you do not already know, all ALS is hospital based with BLS responding transport ambulances. Most paramedics start at 20-25. If also an RN there is more. Also more with experience. EMTs vary so greatly but normally like 11-14. Some we'll above, some below.
