I have a couple of ideas for improving EMS equipment. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting my ideas off the ground? Do I need to make a prototype and then apply for a patent? What is he best way to market new/useful ideas to medical equipment companies? Of course I don't want to state my improvement ideas online. They are nothing extraordinary, just common sense improvements to existing equipment.
Thanks for your time!

For starters, get your improvement clear and diagrammed. Then you can apply for a Patent Pending pretty cheap, which will put you on the line as you investigate the patents that combined into creating the equipment you are improving. It's a one step at a time thing. Out of that, you'll spend the money to get the patent. (I'm not a Lawyer!)

Thanks for your suggestion! As I progress through the process, I'll revisit this thread!

Sounds Good! Just beware, some devices used in EMS, or involved in patient care, need to be assessed and approved by the FDA...

Good Luck!

This wouldn't be a new device, just an improvement to speed up verification of successful interventions. This is just kind of a common sense Improvement. It realistically wouldn't change the function or appropriateness of the device. Again, thank you for the helpful advice!
