New EMT, medic school ques.

So I'm new EMT-B and I am currently applying to ambulance companies in the SD, Riverside, and Orange county areas of California. And I have questions about paramedic programs. I honestly don't have a clue, what are some good medic programs here in southern cali (I reside in riverside), what should I do to prepare for medic school? (I plan on working for an ambulance agency for a little bit before I do go, i feel like I need a lot of field experience and my skills maybe rusty ha) and finally, what should I expect from medic school. how long does it take?

There are many threads here on the employment and training opportunities in California. Since right now you don't have a clue, do a little searching, get a clue and then when you find something you're really clueless about, ask and I'm sure someone here can help.
 
thank you. and I did do some more research and found some good schools. In most of them you have to have 6 months- a year or a certain amount of hours as an EMT to as a prereq, what if your an er tech? do those hours count as well? or...

Usually yes, I can't think of any that doesn't, but it would be wise to ask the schools.
