So I have this girlfriend.. she's not quite 19 years of age (I'm 20) and she's been having chest/heart problems for a while now. She's unsure of any heart conditions she may have. Every once in a while, her chest will bother her, whether it be a minor pain or sharp pains in the middle of her chest (which is what she's been experiencing lately). She's been to the doctor plenty of times and she says they do nothing but prescribe her medicine, and she said she's getting tired of going every time and taking prescription medication. She is saying her chest hurts specifically in the middle (sternum area) and it is ongoing for about 10 minutes - making it difficult for her to breathe. She also has asthma but no history of asthma attacks I believe. Before a couple months ago, things weren't this bad. She had heartburn here and there but since a couple months ago it started getting worse. Last night she had sharp pains delivered to the middle of her chest while we were talking on the phone, she told me to wait while she went and got water and medicine. When she came back to the phone, she told me she got light-headed as she was heading down to go get water, and her chest was still bothering her a bit.

I'm obviously somewhat of a newbie to this field and would like to know what the possibile heart conditions she has/what may be causing her chest paints. I know a bunch of conditions but I'm unsure as to which one(s) are more probable. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Only thing I think I'm allowed to say is, try a specialist instead of a general doctor.
