Moving to OHIO

I have a NJ EMT card it dont say if it is state nor nat how and what do I do about changing it to Ohio??? I will be moving to Ohio on the 28 of this month and would love to join a paying rescue squad there

Me too. But if it isn't...

1.) Paying rescue squad as an EMT? Especially in NE Ohio? Good luck. You'll need medic and fire and a lot of experience to work in a rescue squad in (especially urban) NE Ohio. I can't speak for the rest of the state, though... but I can say that budgets are pretty damn tight in the entire state.

2.) Assuming you're also NREMT, you'll need an advanced airway course (Ohio EMT-B's can intubate) and a lot of patience dealing with bureaucracy.

3.) If you aren't NREMT... you'll still need the advanced airway course, but you'll spend a lot more time dealing with bureaucracy, and you might never get reciprocity.

4.) I'm pretty sure it DOES say "if it is state nor nat." Like you said, it's a NJ cert. As in, valid in NJ.
