Medic Vech Hours

So im going onto my vech clinical hours and I have kinda a concern. The college Im doing my class through only has agreements with a couple fire departments and they are all dual role medics. Coming from the fire side I know that most dual role fire medics pulling a shift on an ambulance tend to dislike it being they belief their firefighters first and medics second. I have raised this concern with the instructor and he agrees that the level of proctoring is not to par with single role or dedicated EMS company medics. I asked about reaching out to other agencies and doing ride alongs with them for my hours. He said if I could get them to do it hes fine with it. Whats your guys thoughts on this? Is this a valid concern? I just am trying to get the best instruction and learning experience as possible.
