I have a couple questions referring to the reciprocity process. I've checked around websites and MIEMSS but still have unanswered questions

Heres the deal.... Im currently a MD EMT-B. I finished Paramedic school this summer and obtained my NREMT-P in October. During this process i had to make a last minute move and im no longer affiliated with a volunteer station. I dont really have time to volunteer since i am working excessively. I want to get a full-time position as a MD Paramedic but im unable to test without a protocol review. I contacted MIEMSS and they said i could have my teacher sign off on a protocol review. So i contacted my teacher and he will not help me. I have no idea what to do or how i can get a protocol review. Does anyone have ideas on how i could get this review?

thanks!

Try contacting some of the county fire departments and see if they are holding one. They may let you jump in.

Keep in mind that you must have an affiliation to hold a MD EMT-P card. Sometimes you can get around it, other times MIEMSS will require it. Ive seen it done both ways. Most of the fire departments will hire you as a medic without a MD license. The IFTs will not though.

PM me if you need any more information, I graduated in May as well from a Maryland school.

Well they said I could test without affiliation and that they would just hold my card till I became affiliated. We did a protocol review in may but My teacher won't sign off. I was only out of affiliation for 2 months so I dont know why I gotta go through all this just to get hired.

I hear ya bud, Maryland is a nightmare when it comes to this stuff. Have you tried contacting any other community colleges?
