I apologize if this isn't in the right section! It seemed like the most appropriate section for it I suppose.

Anyway, I've been considering becoming a paramedic for a few years now. There's never been a time in my life where I didn't want to join the public service sector.

The only issue I'm having right now is the math that's involved. From what I've heard, there's quite a bit of math that goes into becoming a paramedic. Quite frankly, my math is very weak. My fear is realizing that I can't apply the formulas you learn to an actual emergency.

So I guess my question is, what math is involved in becoming a paramedic/emt? Is it harder than high school algebra?

Thanks!

The math is easy and fairly straightforward.

Addition. Subtraction. Multiplication. Division. Done.

I 100% agree with what was said. The kind of math that paramedics use is the kinda math that you already know and have been using since second grade. Arithmetic, fractions, and decimals. It is so simple, but people make it complex trying to memorize tricks.

Just a hand full of simple formulas will cover pretty much everything. For oddball stuff, or little used stuff, we got "cheat sheets".
