Manatee County, Florida EMS

Hello all,

I am new to this forum. I have recently began work as an EMT-B and will be attending paramedic school this fall. I have a question for those who have any information concerning Manatee County, Florida EMS. Namely, is fire and EMS separate there? And if so, what is it like being a paramedic in Manatee county (hourly wage/salary, benefits, etc.)?

Being interested in returning to the Manatee / Tampa bay area soon after paramedic school and trying to understand more about my options, I'm interested to know any and all information that I can. Thanks.

I can't speak of the wages, but yes, fire and EMS are separate, but both are ran by the county and both run out of the fire stations.

I do know that Manatee is always looking for people.
