Louisville Metro EMS (Kentucky)

Since I have family down that way, was wondering how their EMS is down there? Equipment? Trucks? Pay? Morale? Uniforms?


They seem to have a nice agency but would rather hear it from somebody who knows about the agency

I'm from the area and know many medics and EMT's (1/2 my class including instructors that work there). I can give you the low down in a PM or if you have AIM or something like that

Not the worst place to work but not the most cushy either. The people there are mostly nice and such. Pay scale is not too terrible 12ish an hour for EMTs and 15-16 for Paramedics. There is no 'I' level in Kentucky yet. Morale is iffy because of current job situations and lack of funds and extra bodies to fill the trucks (lots of mandatory OT). Uniforms are kinda standard, nothing special of flashy. Trucks are older.
