First of all let me introduce myself. My name is Santiago and I'm Advanced EMT and Nurse. I work in SAMUR of Madrid EMS (Spain), and in 112CyL HEMS.

I'd like to know if ther's a way to validate my academic and profesional qualification in the USA.

Thnaks all.

As a nurse? Sure. As an "Advanced EMT"? Probably not, because most people in this country still have trouble distinguishing EMT from Paramedic.

What state is in your plans?

Once you decide that you can contact the state department for either nursing or EMS for details.

Welcome Santiago. Vent's right. The reciprocity requirements for the USA from Spain might not be that difficult. Then again it might. Add to that the requirements for the individual states for nursing and also EMT's then it can get a little more detailed than most people originally plan on. So yeah. Contact the individual state you are planning on relocating to and then go from there.

Good luck.

Being that you do have training,be it international, you may want to look into National registry. If national registry lets you sit for the test based off your international training, a national registry card goes a long way in most states...

I do national registry is accepted in Canada...I know is Canada, but by definition it is another country. that being said, you can also see if you can reciprocity to Canada, then reciprocity to the USA.

it is worth a shot. I know of many Europeans who got their initial training over seas and work here now. I just don't know what that had to go thru to do. Next time I bump into 1 of European co-workers I will ask for ya...
