Ok, so one of our new responders for our school squad is deaf. She wears hearing aids, but cannot sleep in them. Unfortunately, many of our calls are at night, and our system is radio based, with a tone being sent out before the dispatch information. Our responder is completely deaf without the aids, so a tone system will not work with dispatching her. We've thought about possibly integrating a pager system, but as we haven't ever had to use one, we're not sure how they work.

Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions/etc. on our situation?

An alpha-numeric pager sent to vibrate is a really good method. My ambulance service uses them for all calls.
