It is now 6 days after the official NREMT release of states to conduct I-99 to NRP (not NREMT-P anymore). Does anyone know of any classes being offered? I am willing to travel to any state to attend and I am also sharing this with expat co-workers from all over the states, so anywhere and any program is sufficient. For those wanting information on it, I am attaching the NREMT I99 transition flyer and the National Association of EMS Officials paper on which states are doing transition, what levels they will accept and when they expect to have it done by. Thanks ahead to those that reply with class postings.

Still looking

Still looking for information on I99 to NRP transition classes. Anyone know of any?

I'd love to see NREMT-P to NR-P transition stuff.

Sorry to say it, but don't hold your breath.

Jon, PA has committed to having PA EMT-P transition done by March of 2017. Like most states they are planning on implementing it as part of a Paramedic refresher so you likely won't see it posted as a transition alone. PA, as you already know, is still stuck waiting on the politicians to approve Act 37 which will be the official implementation to the new National Scope of Practice and the National EMS Education Standard which these transitions are dependent on, not to mention starting the required CAAHEP accreditation for new paramedics. Many states are well ahead of the PA on this aspect, especially those that treat EMS as a regulation and not a law, so they are not dependent on state reps. which are more worried about how to keep Harrisburg afloat. That is one reason I am looking for an I-99 transition. VA which is where I certified my I-99 will not be transitioning as they plan on keeping the state level certs for a while. I was waiting for PA to implement Act 37 to convert my PA EMT-B to AEMT, but I am tired of waiting and might as well move up than fall back if I can find a program. AZ has already told me they will offer a transition for their 42 I-99s and I was approved to take it, but they have not written the program yet, so I was just hoping to find another earlier.

Oh, I know it'll happen eventually. It'd be nice if it was sooner, rather than later.

PA is ahead of the curve some places, and behind it in others.
