Hello everyone, I am new to this forum/site and this looks pretty good. I did a quick search about my question and did not find much but if there is a super thread I missed, I am sorry.

I am looking to find a course to bridge from I-85 to I-99. My goal is Paramedic one day and that will happen but for now I must obtain I-99.
I have a great job that I love and my Employer is great to work for. In this day and age of social networking and online comments leading to work troubles, I am going to leave information like that out of this post even though I am not going to be negative. My Employer will not only place me in a Paramedic class, they will also pay for it and pay me to go. Sweet deal if you ask me. The only stipulation is that one must be an I-99 to get into the Paramedic Program. Officially it is just the policy and has been that way for years. What I am told is the program is pretty intense and an I-99 has a greater chance of completing the course. It makes sense but does also make things more of a challenge. I suppose one must show how bad they want to be a Paramedic.

Where I work, I-85’s are involved in a lot. The Medical Director for our County is pretty proactive and a lot of what we do as 85’s, are within the 99 scope. I checked with the State and NREMT and both said I could not challenge their I-99 exams. Makes sense in that you let one person do it then all will want to.

So I am looking for an I-85 to I-99 Bridge Course. They seem pretty hard to find especially with the coming changes of 2014. I pretty much will go anywhere and I am not too concerned about content in that between the high standards of work, my personal beliefs, and Paramedic school, I am not going to miss much. The situation is not ideal but it is what it is. With the costs of a good Paramedic Program and the competition to get in, doing it through work is in my best interest. So going from 85 to 99 is a must. There is nothing local here in the area I am in so an online course could be ideal and not cut into work and family time.

The www seems pretty dry on 85-99 classes so does anyone have and thoughts or ideas?
Thank you.

I99 is going the way of the dodo soon, so you might as well just look for a bridge to AEMT when it's offered and then attend a medic class...

I have also thought this course should exist. Possibly 1-2 semesters long. It might exist somewhere, but I am unsure. I do have ideas of what should be covered.

I am currently chatting with some legislators in New Hampshire about creation of such a course. I took Intermediate with the 99 book and we learned 85% of the 99 scope, but based on the state's statue of EMT-Is we were required to take the 85 exam. No clue what's going to happen with us and the AEMT standard since we clearly have all that information and much more.
