How did you get to join the EMT program? I have no clue how to even get ready for it. I just joined this emtlife.com page. I have been wanting to be a EMT since my cousin told me about.it about 5 years ago.

Find an EMT-Basic class. Either at a community college, local Fire Dept, or hospital. It's that easy.

Start with getting CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers. Then ask your classmates and inatructor what EMT programs are around.

You could look online for classes in you area. As was stated before, most community colleges have a program. I went to a private school. It had really good ratings. As far as getting your CPR for Healthcare Providers certification, I would wait. Why pay for it separately if it might be included in your tuition. Mine was part of the curriculum.

I was told by my instructor: its not who gets in (anyone can) its anout who comes out. I believe it because 1/2 of our class disappeared over time. Do your homework, find the school/program and kick ***.
