Hello all,

I've always wanted to be a Paramedic, and I'm ready to start my training. The only problem is, I don't know how to get started. I've looked up some programs and courses at my local community college, found some articles on what it takes and I understand the levels of training but I'm still confused.

Any advise would be appreciated. How did you get started?

Thanks so much guys,

Contact you local community college, ask to speak with an admissions counselor, and tell them you want to take an EMT class. ;)

Check out your local community college, apply for an EMT class. Most technical colleges have an EMS program. Pay. Go to class, study and pass. You can then get hired as an EMT, and apply for paramedic school. Good Luck.

It's no domestic violence, I should be fine on background checks.

Gee thanks for rubbing that it. From the news I received about an hour again, I'm not.

Now that's funny, I don't care who you are. Well, funny if you're old enough to get the joke anyway.

Virginia is teaming with volunteer ambulance squads. Do a little google magic and see if there is one in your area, chances are they can help, and for a little of your time, they can gift you the way to EMT.

Good luck.

Perhaps one of these is close to you:

Yes!

You're gonna love being an EMT the process can seem a little hard, but it is not at all! The class is awesome and the feeling of being a part of something so big is undiscribable! good luck and study hard!:)

Most community colleges offer a basic course, sign up for it, study hard, take the state test, badda-boom-badda-bing!

Shot Call!!!

Im working on registering for EMT-B, an the biggest problem for me is the shot records. i am either going to have to get chicken pox shots, or get a blood test done to prove i had it when i was a kid. Not a fun undertaking when the VA is your primary health care.
