Just curious... I'm finding all the important or I should say most important info that I must know I have to write it down over and over again how ever many times it takes to drill it into my head. I'm just curious to know so maybe I can pick up some different ways on how other people do or did study during EMT/medic school.

Some people do better studying in a group, asking each other questions. Some make flash cards with questions on one side, answers on the other. Some practice with multiple-choice questions like the ones found in your books. Some read material over and over again. Some attend extra sessions with a faculty member who offers one-on-one help. Some do exactly what you're doing. People learn in different ways. In general, the classroom material will make more sense once you have opportunities to apply what you're learning to practical scenarios.

I read my chapter at the start of the week. Break down any new issues into an A, B, or C issue. Carry med profiles with me and look over them whenver I get a few minutes. Watch lecture over chapter at end of week. In class we clear up any confusion over the material and run scenarios related to whatever we've been going over.

I also work FT in a clinic as a receptionist/nurse/lab tech/janitor and have about 20-30 pt contacts a day because of it. Great way to get a feel for people, hone assessment skills, and learn meds, medical probs, and processes.

Our instructor posts an outline for the upcoming class. I read the chapters and take notes at home, print out the outline and bring that to the lecture. I take more notes. I will usually take the outline and fill out as much as I can and see what my weaknesses are and read more about that. Then flashcards. Drug profiles, tons of flashcards. tons.
