I don't know if I should laugh or be mortified, either way this is a pathetic piece of journalism and a horrible recruiting campaign.

So if your an adrenaline junkie who wants to serve the community with a minimal education for free, here's your job........................

EMTs who have been dedicated enough to keep their license for nearly 30 years easily have attended in excess of 1,290 hours of training!

WOW! a whole 1290 hours in nearly 30 years!!!!!!!

The individual that wrote the article is also the contact for the EMS service, so this is a submitted press release. Can't expect her to write in a journalistic sense, but I can understand how she needs to "sell" their service to recruit new volunteers. I'll admit its a bit over the top for us experienced in EMS, but hey, "ya gotta do, what ya gotta do."

I got that in less than 2 years!!!!

One more location off of my vacation list.......................

Hmm.. if I did my math correctly..
1290hrs/30yrs=43hrs per year. Wow.. 43 hours of training per year. That boils down to 3 hours per month.

I did 1600 hours of training last year and am not done yet.
