In regards to Heart Blocks, when interpreting, would one say, for example that it is a Sinus Rhythm with a 1, 2, 3 etc or can/do you omit the first part?

i.e. The Pt has a 1st degree heart block (1degree AVB acceptable?) vs the pt has a Sinus Rhythm with First Degree Heart Block (same for Wenckebach, Mobitz II & 3deg)

Thanks! ;)

A heart block in the first degree is not a rhythm in itself, you must identify the underlying rhythm accompanying a first degree heart block. The others are fine by themselves. Second degree type I and II, and 3rd degree heart blocks are rhythms in themselves, and as such are named by themselves.

Thank you!

If you don't specify the underlying atrial rhythm it will be assumed to be sinus rhythm.
