OMAHA, Neb. — A troop of Boy Scouts on a camping trip saved an 18-month-old girl who had fallen in a river upstream from them and was floating face down, officials said.

Yay for the BSA!!!

I bet all the little girl scouts are hot and bothered now...;)

Yeah, these kids get the "Hero" tag. I spent many years in the BSA and enjoyed it a lot. In fact, that's where I got my start in EMS - I took a bunch of the related merit badges like Emergency Preparedness, First Aid, Lifesaving, etc. But things have sure changed from when I was Scout aged!

As much as they change, they stay the same... I was back at scout camp this summer for the first time in 5 years... This time I was there as an adult leader.

the scouts are still "Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obidient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverant" and they've spent some time in court defining that.

It is the darn volunteers that make things stressful... There are more politics involved in the darn Boy Scout council than in the screwed-up Volunteer Fire Co.
