Hello everyone,
I came across this forum searching for EMS/EMT information, primarily gear, and thought I would join.
I am currently a full time Criminal Justice student but also working toward becoming a Paramedic as well. I volunteer with the local Department of Emergency Management and Sheriff's Dept. for SAR. I work SAR in two counties in WA and with one of them am a K-9 handler with my German shepherd, which is a wilderness air scent dog. In terms of medical background I have first aid and combat lifesaver and am currently taking EMT-B this quarter. Once EMT-B is complete I will be going right to Wilderness EMT at the end of June.
My final career goal is to join the FBI's Counter-Terrorism Task Force and continue my career as an counter-terrorism intelligence analyst but also plan on working as a volunteer paramedic and sticking with SAR.
I am former US Navy and have worked as an analyst over the past 10 years split between DoD contractors and the military over those 10 years.
I look forward to meeting everyone here and learning all that I am able!
