Hey, I'm the guy a few of you were helping with the decision of taking my summer emt class. Well, it sure kept me busy, but fortunately I passed it, with and 88%. I went through all the nremt.org stuff, just got my Authorization to test letter, and will probably be taking it before this week ends. I just got this book, "EMT-basic Interactive flashcards" which seems to be pretty useful, but I was wondering if there is anything else anyone could recommend for studying for this test? Anything specific you remember was hard, etc.

Well, that's just an update from me, I haven't been on here in a while, thanks again all you who helped me make the decision to take this test, I'm glad I did. After the National registry, I'll be taking the LA county test, and then finally (I think) I can get a job; I'll probably start out on a transport rig. (Although I would really welcome any advice on being an ER-tech). I wanted to be an er tech, but I heard you need some field experience first.

Thanks in advance

There have been a number of threads this summer about testing, you might want to do a quick search to find out some of the stuff that's already been posted. In the meantime, remember that the skill sheets are your friend. Best of luck on the test and your job search.

First, welcome to the tribe!! Have you spoken to any of the local hospital nurse recruiters about the qualifications of the job? Some hospitals will train you as a new ER tech/EMT. It is also a great way to learn a lot and see all of the different allied health care professionals. Good luck! :)
