That's actually standard for sex-crimes. Women aren't actually people, and there fore aren't entitled to speedy justice, doncha know. :/

Goddammit, I love this field, I really do, but the rampant sexism I keep coming across is just so outrageous, the only thing that surprises me is that we don't hear about more cases like this.
