Firefighter failed alcohol test

MADISON TOWNSHIP -- An ambulance-car collision nine months ago is raising questions today about why blood-alcohol tests for a firefighter who was at the wheel of the ambulance were never reported to police.

And the company that insured the other driver -- who caused the crash by running a red light -- also said it was never told about two breath tests which showed that Madison Township firefighter Rick Dropsey's blood-alcohol content was above the legal limit at the time of the July 25 accident.

Why weren't they reported? To cover something up.

Why the hell was someone driving an ambulance after drinking alcohol anyway?

Ok.. to sum this up... it sounds like the ETOH tests might have been an error.

If all the EMS and Fire Department staff onscene can't tell the guy is drunk, and the Cops can't tell he is drunk... then y'all need some new cops and FF's...

I'm dissapointed no one got a blood test - The cops get a blood test before they can hit you with DUI... only way you get DUI w/o a blood test is if you fail a field sobriety test and REFUSE to take a blood test... then you are GUILTY... at least in PA.

Reading into the story a little- sounds like Grandma had no business driving... she managed to run a red light and hit an AMBULANCE with red lights and possibly siren on... And the insurance Co. is going to use this to throw the blame on the fire department...

Because in PA, you are guilty until proven guilty by means of false accusations, and back stabbing attorneys. Right?

That wasn't what I meant... the law is written that, if you refuse blood test/ sobriety test, you get the same punishment you'd get for DUI...
