Fire Technology near Eugene, OR

My sister wants to get into fire! Yeee!!! After years of her teasing me for my fascination with emergencies... Still, I'm excited. She's 19, currently attending U of O and they have nothing even similar to Fire Technology even in their extension. The local CC has EMT & Medic but she's definitely going to be more a fire buff (I barely have her talked into EMT as prep but I don't think medic will be her game). The closest school with Fire Tech I can find is Salem which is an hour north. Help?!
 
Hopefully she will realize that emt/medic is roughly 80% of being a firefighter. And that having her emt or medic will make her a much better candidate.
 
While I agree with you that most fire calls are medical, I think she'll be happy with the basic skills attained as an EMT. And even if she doesn't get to use the fire knowledge and toys as much as she'd like, she'll be a very effective member of the fire team. When we volunteered as kids at the local station she meshed right into that group while I gravitated towards the paramedics. Just different types of people.
