So next fall i will be starting my primary care paramedic Course. For a 28 weeks course.
For the qualifications at this moment all I need is a grade 12 with a english A and B 30 and bio or chem 30 all with a 60%.
My first question is, what are some grade 12 classes that really help out when it come to the life of a paramedic.
Also i need the following two courses, Standard First Aid within two years of the date of issue, and CPR - HeartSaver "C" AED or equivalent within one year of the date of issue. I get all my course for free since my mom is a teacher so any courses that help besides the 2 i need.
What are some really good textbooks to start reading up on and get a feel for what i will be learning.
Last question of the day what is it like in training for that 28 week course, is it alot of in class or alot of hands on. How does the whole school thing go on.
this is the link to the course out line i will be starting

I don't know what high school courses you should brush up on. However you need to be able to write a good report with proper english grammar, as is proficiency in basic math. Add, subtract, multiply, divide, percentages and decimals. Some basic chemistry and biology is also useful.
The PCP courses here are about 7hrs a day mixed between classroom and lab time. Lots of studying and projects to do in the evenings. It is a full time job to get through it. There is precious little time to go out with friends during the week unless you are a genus.
Do a search here for "texts" or "paramedic books". Find out what your course will use and whether they are included in the tuition or if you buy them seperately. Maybe you can borrow some at the libarary.
A standard first aid course should give you a level "C" cpr card. They should be easy to pick up from a number of providers such as St John Ambulance or the Red Cross.
Good luck.
