I wanted to see if anyone was working in a federal prison as a paramedic. It seems that those jobs have excellent pay plus great retirement. Maybe it is time to look past the ambulance and look to other areas.

I found some prisons starting from 48K-62K a year.

The prisons and jails around here require at least 5 years spent working as a street medic before they'll even look at your resume. Most like a little bit of hospital time as well. But that's just around here

Anyone have anything constructive here? I'm looking at a similar position right now.

Here in my town we have 3 of our members who work in the local jails but they were hired as Corrections Officers. The NWT Corrections Service only hire RNs for medical services.
