I wanted to share this story, an MVA one of my partners went to the other night. A Guardian Angel was watching over this girl, for sure!

'Flames surrounded a trapped driver near Pahiatua on Monday night moments before firefighters doused her burning car during a "miracle" rescue.

Stephanie Wild, 16, of Pahiatua, is now in the Palmerston North Hospital intensive care unit with a fractured pelvis, punctured lung, abdominal injuries and suspected broken ribs received when the Ford Laser car she was driving collided with another vehicle on Mangahao Road near the town about 8pm on Monday, her stepfather Richard Turner said yesterday.'

See the following link for this rest of the story.....

Yip, it was obviously not her time. Sounds like a good turn out time!! Just qurious, they say she is 16 years old and driving alone, is that the legal age at which one can obtain driver's permit??

Ops

In New Zealand, at the age of 15, you can apply for your Learners Licence, which is sitting a test on the 'road code' (road rules).
Then you can start to learn to drive, with a licenced driver.
Once you have done that, you can sit another test (practical), and get a Restricted Licence. Which means you can drive alone between the hours of 5am and 10pm.
After 18 months on a Restricted Licence, you can go for your Full Licence.

I assume this young lady was on her Restricted Licence, so therefore legally on the road.
