Experience question

Hey all! I was wondering if starting off at dispatch is a good way to go before leaping into EMT? An opportunity has presented itself to me and I'm not sure if its a great start or not. My dream is to become a paramedic. Has anyone found working dispatch before going to school has been beneficial at all? Thanks!

if it pays well (or better than the job you have) then I would take it. it definitely wouldn't hurt to build some contacts and a good rapport with a company that could hire you as an EMT once you finish school.

In terms of experience i'm not sure how much it would help you once you get into the field - other than having good radio communication skills.
