The Staten Island firefighter who bashed a colleague in the face with a metal chair pleaded guilty to assault Wednesday for the New Year's Eve 2003 fracas which left his fellow fireman in a coma.
Michael Silvestri, a 17-year veteran of the FDNY, will be sentenced to a year in prison next month for the second-degree assault that nearly killed firefighter Robert Walsh, said Staten Island District Attorney Daniel Donovan Jr.
