Hey everyone!
I'm a student and for an assignment that my preceptor gave me, he wants to know if you can use entonox as part of your pain management with an ectopic pregnancy.
What are your thoughts??

Yes, absolutely. Entonox is only contraindicated in cases of suspected bowel obstruction, diving emergency (or post diving), or pneumothorax. The rationale for this is entonox expand gas filled spaces within the body.

Sounds like a trick question. Can you diagnose an ectopic pregnancy in the field? Can you rule out bowel obstruction? Crtitical thinking, I love it.

The real question is why is the entonox tank empty when I go to turn it on for the patient?

(Disclaimer I don't have entonox in my system)
