EMT Shortage

A shortage of volunteer emergency medical technicians across Kansas is slowing down ambulance response times and increasing the time it takes to get patients critical medical care.

EMTs say the dearth of volunteers is also putting big strains on paid crews, in a profession where seconds count.

Sure, why not blame those volunteers.

You wouldn't want to blame the citizens in a city who voted against a tax increase that would allow for full time EMS coverage.

You should definantly blame the volunteers. After all there are 24 hours in a day. If they would just shave a little time off their sleep schedule, and stop having any desire to spend anytime with their families, and heck, perhaps they should just stop working and start living at the station. THAT would be cheaper than paying rent/mortgage.

Then there would be someone in station 24/7 to answer the calls.

Perhaps if the volunteers were a little less selfish and provide even more time to the citizens in their communites then maybe Grandma whose toes have been hurting for the last 6 weeks wouldn't have to wait so long for a taxambulance (that a taxi ambulance) ride to the hospital.

Lord knows you wouldn't want to question the city council as to why they haven't researched other options to supplement the volunteers.

Blame the volunteers. THey don't do enough anyway.

Hey, sounds good to me! Just make sure that I have Dish Network and a Tivo, and I'll come live in a station somewhere. ;)

Aw darn, someone will have to feed me too. Hrm.. ;)
