Hi everyone,

I'm hoping you all will donate a few moments of your time to reply to this thread and explain any experiences you have had or heard of with foreign EMT/Paramedics working at your station/company for temporary amounts of time?

I'm not talking about immigrants to the U.S./Canada but temporary exchanges where the likes of us go and work for a few weeks/months to garner an appreciation for other systems.

Specifically I am enquiring as a Canadian hoping to work in Disneyland/Disneyworld for a Summer or two (or through out the year even) as an experience, possibly longer on how it all goes. I think it would be a wonderful experience to visit and see how things are done "abroad".

An "international student" type of experience if you will!

All the best :D

I worked in the usa as an EMT intermediate ( about a pcp here in Canada) on a student visa. If you are a university student in the USA you can work for 1 year full time or 2 years part time. It is called cpt or opt status . I really enjoyed working there. It was an ALS 911 and cct service. I learned a lot. The down side was I only made 7.50 an hour.
