Wassup to all. I have just been called for a interview to work for the FDNY EMT. The interview is set for June 8th 2010. I am looking forword to the interview but I would like to know how to prepare for it. Also, can I go into the interview with no certification at all? All the guy mentioned was a drivers license and hs diploma. I have a degree in political science.

Thanks

You got a degree in political science so you could work as an EMT?

Because no one is allowed to change their mind, ever.

I'll let someone from NY answer the specifics of the interview as every agency has their own way, but general EMS interview topics have been discussed in depth in other posts, search button is your friend.

Thanks for the responses. I received the application from the fdny on friday and I do not need certification as the interview is to get into the 16 week training program with the FDNY Academy over in MetroTech. On the description of what i'll be getting into it says I cannot be certified while interviewing so I guess im good. I just have to kill at thr interview to get in for the January 2011 classes.

As to my graduating with a Political Science degree, I never said I did that to be an EMT. I had applied a year or 2 ago for the FDNY while in scholl and just got the call back. Being that job are so bad in the city I figured I would go along with the EMT training and see how that turns out. I will keep you guys posted on hoe everything turns out.
