I am looking for documentation on why our management should support our EMT-Is in upgrading to the new AEMT. Their current stance is that EMT-Is are basically worthless. Bottom line either we find a way to upgrade or they are fine with us dropping down to a basic level. Agency is based in SC. Any help is greatly appreciated. Opinions are highly valued but I need some solid supporting information.

I heard they where goin go to drop EMT-I's in MA. I hope they don't I wanna go for mine.

Well what is the difference between AEMT's and EMT-I's.

Lol that's it?

99% sure that's it. We went over this in class like 2 months ago. From what I remember nothing different besides the name. Pretty sure they both gain the same skills.

Well then they should just grandfather the old EMT-I's to AEMT's. If they don't they're retarded

In general, they should. There is maybe a few hours worth of materials difference, depending on your state. I would gain IOs, lose EJs and intubation, and lose a few drugs.

We will be getting a few new things here in NH I believe to include pedi IO's(already can do adult) possible new drugs. I believe they will be doing more pharm and a&p stuff like that. airway and cardiac stuff as well but not positive on all the details yet.
