Hi there, I am new to this forum, was hoping someone could give their opinion on this thread. I am a Emt basic, Cna, and was accepted to phlebotomy school. I was wondering if I should even bother going to school for this, or should I just try to find a job at a hospital, and hope to get training on the job for phlebotomy? Not, sure what I should do..... Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks.....

In today's job market it benefits everyone to have options. If you have the time and desire, having a certificate will make you that much more marketable. A decent job helps provide financial oportunities and the option of moving on to more education. More education, more choices. Good luck :)

Simple...

do you want to work as a phlebotomist?

If yes, then find out what the requirements are in your state or county.

You might be able to get on the job training but if it doesn't come with a certificate from an approved training facility/school, you won't be able to use your training.

Everywhere I worked phlebotomy was just a skill set to add-on.

I guess if it is being offered to people without anatomy under their belt like nurses would need a school.
If it is very expensive, think twice.
