Hi All,
This maybe a silly question to the more experienced people but i am really stuck on this, I have recently returned to the UK from assignment abroad and to my shock have found that my Medical First Responder and AHA BLS certification is (Not recognised by the VAS I volunteer with).
Now here's the dilemma, I have been bombarded by friends and colleagues stating why don’t you just do a standard FAW (First Aid At Work) course, to be honest and I don’t want to sound arrogant here but I will have to pay roughly £200 for knowledge I already have, all for a wallet card…
If anyone in the UK is a volunteer or independent medic please can you recommend a training provider where i can get my EMT-B training/certification and will it be recognised for me to operate at Ambulance Technician Level 1? I am more than confident to do the pre-test/post-test skills based assessment.
I have over three years experience as a rescue team member with an international ngo and already know all the basics of pre-hospital trauma care; that includes kinematics of trauma, assessment/management, airway management including basic airways adjuncts, packing and transport etc...
Cheers,
