I'm planning to go to American Medical Acedemy; they have a 3 month EMT-B program. Is this standard? I've read forums of people saying they've taken the course for a longer period of time.....

Do yourself a favor and go to a community college. You will get a better education and cheaper too!

the community college program is is 3 months if done in 1 semester.

American Medical Academy charges almost $1600 for a 3 month class and you get no college credit.

If you attend Miami Dade C.C., you will get 11 hours of credit towards a degree and a standing with the college to take the Paramedic.

The cost per semester credit is $80/hour (x11).

The cost for the Paramedic at American Medical is almost $7000.

The cost at MDCC is $80 x 42 hours of credit or half the cost of the medic mill price.

You will be close to having 2 year degree with 11 + 42 hours of credit at an accredited college and from an accredited EMS program.
