Im about to finish my basic class next week then take my national. Im gonna stay here for a while though so i was wondering what companies people recommended. I live pretty close to Advance and MedEx is about 20 min away in skokie. But i was wondering about Superior. Anyway, if anyone can help me out, please do.

Go with MedEx. I worked for them for about 4 years until I moved to MA. They will treat you will.

MedEx

alright i guess i can work for them for a while. I need someone to pay for my paramedic school though and i know they dont do that since one of my teachers works for them and told me that they dont pay. I also found out that they are the only ones who dont pay for it, but that they are a very good company to work for. Therefore, I figure I can work for them for a while then transfer to another company. Thank you for responding.

I've never understood why MedEx doesn't sponsor for medic school, but that is really their only major drawback. Look into Malcolm X for medic school- it'll help with Chicago North EMS protocols.

ya oh well, they have good people and they're always busy. I just took my final test consisting of 150 questions which I finished in 45 minutes being the fourth or fifth out of the class to be done. It was very simple and I feel bad for those people that are still sitting there as we speak taking it. but i also don't really care. All i have to do now is take my national and then job time. I guess i stil have to go get my diploma and do my triage practical on wednesday as well as find out how i did on this exam but all and all this class was fun, and i can barely wait to start paramedic school. Malcolm X i heard has a really good program as you said and i will put myself on superiors waiting list as im working for medex so if i get in there then i can have them pay for it.

Most people go from Superior to MedEx. Just becareful about Superior. Most folks I know who made the switch look healthier and happier at MedEx.

ok i will, but i wont be able to pay for the medic school which sucks because medex seems like a good company and a lot of people tell me that superior is really strict and that a lot of people leave. That also makes me wonder though how they have a waiting list when so many ppl quit. I ponder that a lot. I will be an EMTB for at least six months though and then well see. Maybe ill start medic school in december who knows whats gonna happen till then.
