Does anyone know who covers Las Vegas? I've seen several different websites saying that it is covered by Las Vegas EMS, Clark County EMS, or AMR. I remember seeing a Las Vegas EMS box when I was in Vegas... I think. Anyway, I am looking for a place to move to and LV is in my thoughts. Just wondering where I should be looking for work. If you know who and/or the website that would be great! Also, I will be testing my FPC in the next few and would like to know who might cover the flight services for the same area. Thanks again!

Just to make sure, you mean Vegas Nevada right?

yes, I do mean Las Vegas Nevada

AMR and MedicWest (I think) cover transports for the FD... FD has ALS rigs, as do the privates.

AMR/Medic West/and FD

The Privates are AMR and Medic West. On all 911 calls in Vegas the FD arrives first (usually) and then the private. AMR bought out Medic West last year so it's all AMR here but Medic West still does it's own hiring. As far as flight, AMR got out of that service several years back due to an unfortunate happening with a patient(s). It's handled by hospitals and others but not sure who. AMR hires/runs 95% Paramedic/Intermediate rigs. Medic West hires more basics than AMR. There are also a plethora of Per Diem opportunities for Basics, Intermediates and Medics at hospitals and Special Events because of tourism. Those usually pay very nicely and are easy to get (just sign up). Hope this helps. If you decide to move here be prepared for a lot of intoxicated, homeless, addicts, heat exaustion and generally "crazy crazies" B). It's hardly ever boring, I love it. Unfortunately there are several EMT's and Medics that have become somewhat "jaded" here. They do fine, don't get me wrong, and I have never had a problem (though im still a newbie^_^). I guess I hope that I never become like that, and if I do then it's time for me to do somthin else.
