I did my emergency medical responder course formally known as First Responder. I have 2 test left peds and the final. I will pass. After that I will do the EMT course. I did this course were I did the EMT course no problems with anyone and I passed every test with 80 or above. I took no shorts cuts.

They changed the course they took the EMT course and made it shorter. You can pretty munch do what an EMT can do. The only thing is you can not do c-pap And inhalers.

Hey there italk, long time no see... Good work on EMR; keep keeping that temper in check ;)

Good luck finding a job as an EMR, though. Don't stop there.

I volunteer and I lost the temper because it wasn't worth it. I had fun in the course I seized and passed out on night in class low blood surger. I was given a first class ticket to the hospital.

I remember you telling how angry you were with my idea's of taking short cuts I was bothered and through I better prove myself that I am not loser nor only take the easy way out.

Given that in past threads you've also talked about your medical problems - do you really have them well enough under control to run on an ambulance? What happens if that hypoglycemic episode happens when you're trying to work on a patient?

I have my stuff under control. when I do not eat enough because I pass out when I take my increxlex

Realize that being on an ambulance can be long hours where you likely won't be able to stop for food whenever you want. You're going to have to stay completely on top of it every single shift. And I'm not sure of your dosing schedule, but I don't think you'd be able to take your Increlex before or during a shift.

I changed i how do it. Like when i have school or work. I do it when I am home at the end of the day. So if something happens I do not have to worry. it works because I have had no episodes since.

Again, Devil's advocate - what about overnight shifts?

Or to add to that, day shifts where you go considerably over your scheduled off time (ie 9a-9p but don't get off until 10 to 12). That can be quite common.

I hate to say it, Italk, but a diabetic partner prone to syncopal episodes is a liability.
