I work on a 24hr car and have been driving 700-1000 miles in a shift and only make 10 dollars an hour. Is there laws preventing this milage from happening?

Nope we don't fall under the same laws as truck drivers. And i have to ask, since i work a busy rural 911 system and only put on about 600 miles in a 32 hour shift, what thr hell type of EMS are you doing? All long distance IFT?
and as for pay... ems is low paying. Its a fact of life. EMTs are a dime a dozen and medics are a quarter a dozen

I work on a CCT unit do IFT's mostly. It just seems cruel and unusual to run 2-3 calls in 24 hours and drive that much with no rest.

That's actually a legal question to which we have no answer.
